The Legend of the Turtle and The Filleting Knife

So a friend of mine decide to go fishing at my grandparents house off the Platte River. We get there in the afternoon on a Thursday and get the boat launched in the river only to realize...no tent...no sleeping bag. Nice. Oh well...i figure my grandparents will have some extras. So we have our usual trip and catch lots of fish. Fun Times. So my friend Nathan and I set up our tent and build out fire and eat some grilled chicken and hot dogs. Yum Yum. I remember going to bed about 3:30 Am and waking up about 4:30 Am only to look over toward my friends side of the tent and he is not there. So I am thinking...okay...he just fell asleep outside. I look down towards my feet and surprising see my friend sleeping on my chest! I am like what the heck is this...i have to go Pee...what in the crap are you doing Nate! So I wake Nate up...tell him to get on his side of the tent. Next morning...I tell Nate about my close encounter. He didn't remember a thing.
Here's where things get interesting...Many of you have seen turtles...as I have seen too. As Nate and I are checking our fishing lines along the banks of the river...we are very excited to see our first line has a fish on it. This morning is starting to look good. As we reached the line Nate gently pulls the line up near the boat only to see that this is no fish at all. This is a giant Soft Shell Turtle. Okay we dont like turtles so we figure we will dispose of this guy. So our first option is to try to decapitate this turtle by severing his head with a filleting knife. As we get close to his head...this turtle jumps out with his long neck...grabs the knife by the blade from nates hand and pulls it out of his hands. We both look at each other is awe as we cannot believe what we saw. A turtle stealing away a knife from us. Nate quickly grabs the knife back and we start laughing uncontrollably as we cannot believe what has happened. An entire knife blade of in the throat of a Soft Shell Turtle. Good Times I saw.
